Travel Information

Brisbane and Pine Rivers are on the central east coast of Australia. Pine Rivers Shire is on the northern border of Brisbane (capital city of Queensland, 27.5oS, 153oE). Domestic and international airports are less than 30 minutes drive away, and Brisbane city is easily accessible by train or car.

Pine Rivers, along with the rest of Queensland, operates on Australian Eastern Standard Time which is 10 hours ahead of GMT. Summertime or Daylight Saving is not observed in Queensland. In November, southern states will be operating on Daylight Saving Time and so will be one hour ahead.

At just 746 km south of the Tropic of Capricorn, Pine Rivers has a beautiful sub-tropical climate. While the summer maximum average temperate is 30oC, the summer months can have very hot days relieved by an afternoon sea breeze. Those with fair skins need to be wary in midday sunshine which can burn in a few minutes. Hats, cool clothing that protects from the sun, sunscreen and common sense are essentials to enjoying Queensland summers. See important information about sun protection here.

The Pine Rivers Memorial Bowls Club is air-conditioned.
